UNCONSTITUTIONAL IMPEACHMENT OF DONALD TRUMP
January 13, 2021, one week before his term expired
“I Know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.’~ Donald Trump January 6, 2021
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday spoke in front of supporters at a "Save America March" in Washington D.C. where he said "we will never give up, we will never concede," "if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. The states got defrauded. They were given false information." Speaking before Vice-President Mike Pence was scheduled to count electoral votes in Congress on Wednesday, Trump said "all Vice-President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to re-certify"

Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, was impeached for the second time on January 13, 2021, one week before his term expired. It was the fourth impeachment of a U.S. president, and the second for Trump after his first impeachment in December 2019
David Schoen, one of former President Donald Trump’s lawyers, spoke on Tuesday about the constitutionality of his second Senate impeachment trial, which many Republicans have said should not go forward because Trump is no longer in office. Democrats are arguing for the trial to proceed. Schoen called for lawmakers to wait for a full investigation into the events leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection of the U.S. Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters. “At the end of the day, this is not just about Donald Trump, or any individual. This is about our Constitution and abusing the impeachment power for political gain,” Schoen said. During his argument, Schoen played video clips of calls from Democratic lawmakers for Trump to be impeached during his four years in office. “This is nothing less than the political weaponization of the impeachment process. Pure, raw sport fueled by the misguided idea of party over country,” he said. The Senate is holding an impeachment trial to examine Trump’s culpability in the attack.

Mr. Trump’s impeachment last month by the House was not the quickest in U.S. history. That distinction goes to President Andrew Johnson. In 1868, he dismissed his secretary of war, Edwin M. Stanton, and was impeached just three days later, the culmination of a broad power struggle with the Republican-controlled Congress over Reconstruction.
It is hard to determine a clear starting point for impeachment proceedings against Richard Nixon and Mr. Clinton, and for Mr. Trump the first time. They all stemmed from ongoing scandals and investigations. But in each of them, the House voted and passed a resolution authorizing an impeachment inquiry and then moved forward with proceedings that lasted months.
Mr. Trump’s Senate trial last year spanned three weeks. This year, the schedule set forth in the resolution on the trial’s rules paved the way for a quick proceeding that lasted less than a week.
“The difference, of course, here is that the Senate does know most of the facts because they were in fact directly involved. In some cases, they were victims of the attempted insurrection,” said Frank O. Bowman III, an impeachment scholar at the University of Missouri School of Law.

Medical Examiner Finds USCP Officer Brian Sicknick Died of Natural Causes
April 19, 2021 Press Release
The USCP accepts the findings from the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes. This does not change the fact Officer Sicknick died in the line of duty, courageously defending Congress and the Capitol.
The Department continues to mourn the loss of our beloved colleague. The attack on our officers, including Brian, was an attack on our democracy.
Working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, the F.B.I.’s Washington Field Office and the Metropolitan Police Department, the USCP will continue to ensure those responsible for the assault against officers are held accountable.
Officer Sicknick, 42, joined the Department in July 2008, and most recently served in the Department’s First Responder’s Unit.
On March 14, Julian Elie Khater, 32, of State College, Pennsylvania, and George Pierre Tanios, 39, of Morgantown, West Virginia, were arrested for assaulting Officer Sicknick.
Khater and Tanios are each charged with one count of conspiracy to injure an officer; three counts of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon; one count of civil disorder; one count of obstructing or impeding an official proceeding; one count of physical violence on restricted grounds, while carrying dangerous weapon and resulting in significant bodily injury; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct, act of physical violence on Capitol grounds.
The United States Capitol Police will never forget Officer Sicknick’s bravery, nor the bravery of any officer on January 6, who risked their lives to defend our democracy.
Officer Sicknick’s family requests their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
